Mahatma Gandhi Elaignar Narpani Mandram (MGENM) is thriving forward with the aim at transforming the Mahatma Gandhi vision, 'Every Village has to become a self-sufficient Republic' to reality. The ten youth in Rasipuram (in Nammakkal District of Tamil Nadu) on reception of inspiration of the Gandhian thoughts put forth their concerted efforts in forming legally registered society to enact realistic and achievable programmes to enable the vulnerable and distressed people in our villages in Namakkal domain. Basically all the members are working for the welfare of the people at their region. They joined together in an decision to start an organization. The present Secretary Mr.P.Sakthivel played a vital role in establishing this society and gathered all other members under one roof. The organization was registered under TamilNadu State Societies Registration Act and since then it is functioning successfully in Namakkal, Salem and Erode districts . Rural Development, Health, Sustainable Agriculture and Women empowerment are the prime focus of the organization. The Chief Functionary of MGENM, Mr. P.Sakthivel, is a post graduate M.A in Gandhian Thoughts from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has 35 years of experience in the field of social Development. Some of important trainings attended by him are: Social Development Training, Formation and Management of SHGs, Micro–enterprises, Street Theatre training, Counselling and Communication, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support. He has many accomplishments in the development sector that have special significance to this project. He dedicated his whole life for the development of rural people, and he has created a pleasant path for the Socio-economic empowerment of rural community especially women and children. Under his Guidance and leadership several government and Foreign projects have been carried out.
